April was an intense month, full of energy, participation, and creativity for the project THALASSONIA – From plastic… to music. Give a voice to the sea.

A journey that brings together environmental sustainability and art, transforming a simple action – collecting waste – into an educational and creative experience.

April 11 – Environmental cleanup in Eboli

The first event took place on April 11 at Marina di Eboli. Volunteers, students, and local citizens came together with a shared goal: to take care of the sea

Equipped with gloves and bags, we collected plastic and waste along the beach, starting a process that goes beyond simple cleaning: giving new life to discarded materials

It was a moment of strong collective participation, where respect for the environment turned into real action.

April 18 – Second cleanup day (B38, Eboli)

The journey continued on April 18 at the B38 beach in Eboli

Once again, the sea “returned” objects and materials that tell stories of pollution, but also of change and possibility. Fishing nets, plastic, and various debris were carefully collected, becoming raw material for the upcoming artistic workshop.

These two days reinforced an important message: every small action matters, especially when it is shared.

During the cleanups, we reached the goal of 50 participants.

April 20–22 – Creative workshop with Paweł Romańczuk

The heart of the project took shape in the following days during a three-day workshop led by Polish artist Paweł Romańczuk.

Together with students from a high school in Salerno and a group of people with disabilities, we embarked on a unique journey: transforming collected waste into musical instruments

It was much more than a workshop:

  • a space for inclusion and collaboration
  • an interdisciplinary educational experience
  • a dialogue between art, environment, and community

Materials that once seemed useless began to produce sound, rhythm, and emotion. Plastic and marine debris became voice, music, and expression.

In addition to the instrument built together with the students, Paweł Romańczuk also created a new instrument specifically for the THALASSONIA project: the “Eufon.”

An instrument capable of producing evocative sounds reminiscent of sirens and the magic of the sea – deep, mysterious vibrations, as if coming from the ocean floor. An immersive sonic experience that transports the listener into a world of waves, depths, and imagination.

A project that leaves a mark

THALASSONIA shows that sustainability and creativity can go hand in hand.

April taught us that:

  • caring for the environment can be shared
  • art can be born from waste
  • collaboration creates real value

And above all: the sea can speak… if we learn how to listen.

The journey continues. Stay tuned for upcoming events!
